A Huge Thank You!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Cheryl Bowers and Richard Weeks who have been kind enough to share their family histories with us. As a result, coming soon on the project website we have fascinating multigenerational stories including exciting oral histories for the Contemporary Voices section of the project. The first of these new additions will be an oral history by Jason Bowers which can be heard next week.

We are delighted that we have already got families talking and rediscovering their own past! If you would like to share your family history or have any information that could help our project, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for people with an African heritage who visited, worked or lived in the region between 1750 and 2007. We are also looking for photographs and film footage to highlight Black presence in East Yorkshire to add to our fantastic Photo and Video Galleries. Click the contact us button below if you think you can help. Thank you!
